Top Social Media Hits- September 2015
Oh hey another new regular blog topic, fancy that. At the beginning of each new month I am scouring my Insta and Twitter analytics to see what had the most hits, the most interaction and whacking them in a snazzy list so that you, and I, can see what's working and what's not. Kicking off with Instagram (which you can follow here, natch). I intended to do my top five posts of the month but some of my posts this month had the same amount of likes so this month we start with the top six!
1. Queen Elizabeth's celebration.
This month, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest reigning monarch, out reigning Queen Victoria and I added to the celebrations with a quick doodle for her. Any royal illustration does well, my Prince George birthday piece got a LOTTA love on Twitter and this one was no exception, racking up 42 likes, the top scorer in September.

2. My logo.
This post wasn't strictly about my logo or my promotional material, it was actually promoting this post about Twitter analytics, but it was the image itself that got the love and the super nice comments on Instagram. This post finished second place (just) with 41 likes.

3. Instagram.
Bit of inception here, a post that did well on Instagram, about Instagram. This post was in third place with 37 likes and was promoting this post about how to use Instagram to promote your business. I think it did so well because flat lays always do right? and it included my Instagram Me print which is available to buy on my Etsy uk shop here.

4. The Great British Bake Off semi finalists.
My Bake Off illustrations have generally had a really good reception on all social media platforms, my first ever one that sparked off the rest because of the reaction to it was seen by the official bake off account and this one was no exception. It received 32 likes and a whole bunch of nice comments and some lovely folks were even cute enough to send it on to Flora to make sure she saw it too. Cheers pals!

5. Linked In.
This one was a bit of a shocker to me, it exploded straight away as soon as I added it to my grid and I am still not sure why. It was after all, just a screen grab of my LinkedIn app promoting this blog post on how to utilise the networking site but I think people really dig LinkedIn and what it is used for so it blew up with 31 likes, in joint place with.....

6. My Working Process.
...this one, which also received 31 likes. This flat lay (they seriously always do well) was promoting this post describing my working process when I create my masterpieces (lul). People do love a flat lay and a good bit of stationary.

I also perused my Twitter analytics for this month to see what was getting me those all important hits. The best thing about Twitter analytics is the comparison feature to show you what you're up (and down) on from the previous month. This gives you a much better insight into what's working and what people aren't digging so much.

This month my top tweet was my colour collective for duck egg blue (featuring chickens naturally) which funnily enough only received 16 likes on Instagram-curious how different social media platforms react to different posts. Colour collective posts always do well on Twitter, the lovely people who take part and SUPER supportive of everyone who posts and everyone's feedback is wonderful. As you can see, my top media tweet was also a colour collective!
My top interaction this month was of no surprise, it was a little conversation between Etsy UK, Hannah Gale (blog here) and Susie of MyMiloAndMe (blog here) about my Instagram Me and bloggers prints and I knew their fan base would jump all over it so cheers gal pals!
This was my best month yet on Twitter for impressions and page views and new followers and I think a big portion of that was upping my blogging game and tweeting more. I'd be interested to see what October's stats are like now I've started scheduling tweets because my Twitter game has been raised yet again.
