Social Media & Blog Statistics - November 2017
I plain wasn't around enough this month to be of any use on social media but surprisingly my stats aren't really a reflection of that? I was reading Megan's roundup of her stats this month too and was struck by how similar our months tend to be. We often have bad months together and good months together and now have done very little to help ourselves yet have had decent months. So maybe the moral of the story of these posts is we can try all we want but in the end it's trends in blog reading and Pinterest that do all the work for us.
Idk. But onto the facts.....
Instagram;
I have really fallen head over heels again for Instagram and I am properly loving using it again. For the first time in an age I haven't had 20 million photos waiting in the wings to post so my schedule is only about 4 or 5 photos ahead and it's making me much more free with my theme and my content. I actually for the first time in maybe a year took a photo and uploaded it then and there instead of editing it and adding it to my UNUM schedule and I am living for the dark colours and sparkly lights I have going on and I'm hoping it'll transition nicely into Christmas.
This month I had a few photos hit over 100 likes and a couple over 140 which isn't a lot but is the highest it's been in a long long time and I've also had a few with really great comment and engagement ratio too. Insta stories wise it's going from strength to strength with loads of you viewing religiously every day and a constant stream of engagement and messages from it. Numbers wise I gained about 50 followers this month which is made considering the algortihm of doom and I'm floating round the 180 mark pretty solidly.
Twitter;
My Twitter is a less happy story than my Instagram this month but I really put zero effort into it. I scheduled as much as I could but there were days on end where I didn't push any content and my stats reflect that massively. Combine that with yet another month of no chats and here we are.
I tweeted 200 times less than in October barely over 300 times in the whole month and there was a dip in everything else too. My impressions went down 20K to just over 74K and my profile visits dipped 500 on average to just over 1000 times. My mentions were lower than last month too which considering the lack of chats is not unusual but actually my following count went up 67 people so we're now back over the 3600 mark but I'm still massively vetting my following and blocking people I think are spam or creepy men.
In other news I had another corker of a tweet and guys I don't want to alarm you but Hannah Gale has now liked 2 of my tweets without following me and I am pretty sure we're destined to be besties.
Pinterest;
Again, a very similar story with my Pinterest this month. I did very little on it and didn't really interact with anyone till the end of the month when I went on a Christmas pinning spree but it seems to have done quite well on it's own. My following went up just over 50 which is tiny compared to the growth I used to have by my impressions went up 1.6 million from 1.3 which isn't half bad.
I know I could make so much more of Pinterest like I used to but for the moment it's so low down on my list of my priorities I just can't focus on it. May 2018 be the year I crack it again.
Bloglovin;
Last month was the first time I saw a real change in trend on my Bloglovin where I noticed my posts were being read more and I'm certain it's because they're not being replaced as quickly with more content. This month was no different which I am a big fan of and my following grew a measly 10 which isn't massive but for sure is growth all the same. Bloglovin is a funny kettle of fish.
Google Analytics;
Hoorah finally a month with some improvement! It's slow, it's by no means the average of old and it seems to be the new average but it's growth all the same. Hopefully now December is underway and I have lots of festive content and my blog series planned the growth will only continue.
Stats wise let's get into it; My day to day pageview count stayed pretty similar around 600 per day but had a few which bordered the 900 mark again so my pageviews for the month went up to 23,497 which is agonisingly close to 23 and a half but hey, we won't quibble over 3. My readership went up by 2K and my bounce rate went down again so things are all heading in the right direction. My all time pageviews now sit at 550,473 which makes it near on impossible to hit the 1 million pageviews I had wanted for 2017 but lol we should've known 64,000 pageviews a month was never going to last.
Overall this month I take as a positive small step in the right direction. Apart from the fact I've barely put in any effort my content is all moving in the right direction and growth is growth at the end of the day - no matter how small it may be.
