Friday Favourites 6th - 12th August 2016.
We're one week closer to #BloggerPitP!!! There is so much exciting post arriving and so many plans coming together and you're all in for such a treat if you're coming down to join us.
If you haven't got a space, thought you'd missed out on a space or don't know wtf I'm on about you can read more about the bloggers picnic in Sarah's post here and there are still a handful of spaces for you to nab if you want to come to London next weekend!
1. IRL blogging pals.
Remember when I had guest bloggers (of course you do) and I had one written for me about life in London when you're a country gal and I said the author, Megan Roderick was one of my in real life school friends? Here to put a face to a name - last weekend she happened to be back in Wales and we had a beautiful but all too short reunion. She is one of the brightest sunniest most full of life people I have ever known and she is an absolute joy to have a catch up and a tea (or in my case a Coke) with andddd I got to see her babe of a mother too so win win all round. Oh and this photo is from last summer because we were having too much of a nice time for a selfie this year.
2. Unexpected Encounters.
I mentioned in this post that one of the things I enjoy most in life is randomly seeing people, especially family when you haven't expected to see them. On Sunday when I was with Megan my brother and I were texting and it transpired we were both in the same town, him with his family. When Megan went home for tea I went to meet my brother, his fiancé and my niece in the park and we shared a delightful unplanned hour on the slide and the swings and went to Waitrose, Thug life. It was sweet and it was nice to spend some time with my brother because I don't see him as often as his fiancé or my niece and she has learnt to blow kisses so that was uber cute too.
3. Dentist.
Bit of a weird one I grant you. Here's a short story for you; I haven't been to the dentist in 18 months. The dentist I went to the whole of my life turned private when we were children and is hella expensive. Because we've been in full time education right up until we graduated and so we always got free appointments anyway but when we left and we had to pay a hideous amount, I stopped booking my check ups. And when I stopped booking my check ups I didn't bother booking into another dentist like my brother because lol I detest dentists, I have a horrifying fear of them and like shit was I adding to that anxiety and going somewhere else. A year and a half on my mother lost her rag and booked me a check up at a NHS dentist and on Monday I went- bloody terrified. Moral of the story is, my teeth were absolutely fine and I didn't even need X Rays let alone treatment and I shouldn't have been such a pussy and gone a year ago. Oh and this was the waiting room window so that was an unexpected bonus too.
4. The Vale of Glamorgan Show.
Wednesday was the annual Vale of Glamorgan show, an agricultural show that I have been going to since I was born and a show my Mum has been going to since it was just a few tractors in a field. We have transitioned from going with my Mum when we were babies to going with our Mums and friends when we were children to going with Joss' family when I was older to working there with Joss' family cider business to taking my niece - it's a proper legacy and a bookmarked event in the calendar. This year my niece was one and could really appreciate what she was seeing and it was so so lovely to see her having such a nice day. She waved at every plane she saw, she woofed at every dog she saw, she said 'Hi' to people (something she'd only just learned to say) and she ran about like a mad thing now she's found she can walk! Oh and Vale Cider had a fabulous trading day too which I put mainly down to me walking about in my uniform - mobile advertising and all that.
5. Pink Hair Don't Care.
Wahoooooo my pink hair is back! Granted it's VERY purple at the moment and super dark (even the photos don't show how dark it is) but I had the exact same dip dye in 2014 and after a few weeks and washes it fades to bright pink and then goes pastel pink and omg so nice. I wasn't sure whether I wanted the pink back, it took nearly a year to fade out last time but then Hannah tweeted a few weeks back about wanting to blue in her hair and I was like ok the pink needs to make a comeback. I took very little persuading. So I had my hair cut for the first time in a year and had my layers back in and had it dip dyed and I keep forgetting and freaking out in the mirror.
Check back in next week for THE DAY BEFORE #BLOGGERPITP omg.
