Social Media Roundup - March 2016

Social Media Roundup Promo March 2016

Social Media Roundup Promo March 2016

Oh hey guess who has a jazzy new title? This post is essentially my media hits as per every month but I dunno, I just wasn't feeling the title anymore.

If you haven't seen these posts before, here's a little explanation of how the whole shabang.

Gwennan Rees Illustration;

1. Colour Collective.

Yes my most well received Instagram post of this month on my Illustration page was these lovely mermaids. I normally try and work out what made a post so successful but this one, I have no idea. I think people just liked the illustration, people like colour collective and mermaids are fashionable?

2. Old buddy old pals.

I finally got to show off my new studio this month and I did a few promos of little bits and bobs on my picture wall. The one that got the most likes (and quite rightly too) was this little gem of prints designed by my lovely friends from uni. It's not difficult to see why this post was so favourable so make sure to check them all out on Etsy to grab some prints and cards!

3. Easter.

There really needs no explaining over this photo. Easter was a good un for everyone and the standard egg crop was a regular theme on my Instagram feed. This was mine and my boyfriends haul of 2016 when the family took on the buy 2 get 2 free offers in the supermarkets to heart and well, the rest is history.

Best Easter ever.

Twenty Something Meltdown;

1. Sense of de ja vu?

Oh dear here we go again, this very same post that came third on my illustration account came top BY A MILE on my blogging account. Like nearly double the next near rival. Soz. People love chocolate.

  2. Here we go again.

Oh hello Easter, fancy seeing you here. I am actually not surprised this one made the top 3 of March because bloggers do love a good washed out white flat lay or hand holding something. And if the colour are popping then all the better. Oh bloggers, you cliche lot you. (I'm exactly the same).

3. Stationary Love In.

This photo was actually to promote this reactive post I wrote after the Zoella snapchat fiasco and I'm still not 100% sure if it was the article/topic itself or the photo that made this post so likeable. Whether it was the topic or not, any post of stationary does well on my feed and this lovely stack was from Matalan way back at Christmas.

So Instagram aside, I had THE craziest month on Twitter. After massively neglecting my illustration account in February I had high hopes for March but well, whilst I did pick up a bit, I still put it second best, something that was really concerning me but still something I couldn't bring myself out of.

HOWEVER. My Twitter went off this month for no reason? Like I actually did nothing.... I tweeted even less this month than I did in February yet my views went from 18K to 49K, I had nearly 700 profile views and a handful of new followers. My most popular tweets yet again were colour collective which is no surprise but really, I have no idea why my profile soared this March and I can only thank you.

So last month I mentioned that I found simply identifying as a blogger, my Twitter went off much quicker than my business account. The trend hasn't really stopped and March has been SUCH a good month for my Twitter. Basically every stat and figure went off the scale. I tweeted over 600 times more than I did in February which definitely helped my exposure, my profile views doubled, my followers tripled and my mentions went from 70 to 425. All of this nicely added up to nearly 66K impressions which made my jew drop just a bit.

This translated neatly into more Instagram followers, more Bloglovin and Pinterest followers and better still, more blog views. This is something I 100% attribute to my engagement with blogger chats. I have started taking part in at least one chat a night (sometimes as many as 3) and I can't even begin to tell you how just speaking to people makes such a difference.

Do you keep an eye on your stats on social media? Are blogger chats working for you?
