What It's Really Like Going Away With Bloggers.

"My parents said I shouldn't talk to strangers online.....so I booked a holiday with them."

This very much became the quote of the weekend when I went to Hampshire with my blogging pals. Ok so we weren't all strangers this weekend but we were at one point. Last summer Sarah had the idea of hosting a bloggers picnic and created a Twitter DM with us in it and the rest as they say is history. We were all game for organising the picnic and as most of you know, we hosted BloggersPitP (Bloggers Picnic In The Park) together in London in 2016.

Having met in real life on the most part we made the ultimate commitment and gave out our phone numbers and made the transition to Whatsapp. We haven't really stopped talking since then, if one member of the group goes out you can regularly expect to come back to 300+ messages.

So we did what any friendship group does when they're hankering to escape real life and take loads of candid photos - we booked a weekend away in Hampshire in the countryside.

Living In The Moment.

Living in the moment can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people I suspect. To me I guess it means being truly present in what you're doing, about appreciating what you have in front of you and also appreciating life is short and the moment is important.

As a family and as I'm sure like most families we have experienced loss and I think for a short time at least it makes you stop and take stock and think. It makes you really think about yourself. about your problems, about what's important to you and what's not. I think when you experience loss or something dynamic in a family or a friendship group or a relationship you DO live in the moment - but it never seems to last.

Life moves on, things go back to normal somewhat, day to day chores and arguments and nit picking resumes and you forget how you felt. I feel like very few of us hang on to that feeling and truly live in that moment.

I'll be 25 in October. My mid twenties. I will have left the 18-24 bracket for voting. I've grown up a lot (and haven't really grown up a lot at all). There's a lot in my 25 years that's stuck with me, like my nut allergy and my ability to sing Smack That by Akon, but some things I've definitely grown out of - and I don't just mean my babygros.

I haven't forgotten about my promise (and your interest) to do more homeware, home renovations and content on my house. I am crowning September 'home month' and there'll be a new post about home ownership, decorating and general moving every week so that's fun.

Today though I thought I'd share some info on where we got our furniture. I did a blog post back when we moved on things we'd genuinely bought which you can read about here but it was more a list of little bits we'd got our hands on (or an Ikea catalogue if you want to look at it that way).

I am always looking for a 'start date'. I might track goals and have aims but motivation is my main struggle. My bullet journal habit tracker works for me (for most things) because it focuses me to have a tick box, I feel like a failure if I don't tick it every day. I am always pushing my 'start date', looking for the next new week, the next month, the start of summer, New Years, my birthday.... I don't need much of an excuse to create a start date to motivate myself.

Staycation is a controversial term - for some it means in your local town or city, for me it means somewhere in your country (or strictly speaking for me, somewhere in the UK).

I have always been an advocate for the Great British staycation, I even shared my favourite places to holiday in a blog post this time last year and this year whilst I'm not going on a big holiday, I'm racking up the miles on shorter breaks. This year I've already been to Manchester and North Wales for a few days to see my uni friends, spent a long weekend in North Devon and am off to Dorset next week with a gals holiday booked in Hampshire for September.

Saturday mornings for me are my mornings. Sundays in my opinion are for lazing in bed for Saturdays for me seem such a lovely busy day, they're the days I try to fill with nice things, the days I do a lot but also enjoy myself cos #weekend. I don't wake at the crack of dawn but I still like to get up relatively early and then I have the morning to myself whilst my boyfriend sleeps in and I make a big cuppa and settle down on the sofa with a big bowl of fruit, something trashy on catchup and my bullet journal.

We've had our house for about 5 months now and we finally finished all the construction work and all the shopping and all the decorating in April. It doesn't matter if you've lived away from home before, been a student, whatever...nothing prepares you for having your own place and all the tiny random things you learn.

Last night I had a Twitter notification from @LateNightBloggers saying I might be interested in last night's chat - the topic being what we'd do if we were Prime Minister. It was supposed to be a light hearted v humorous chat and was 100% up my street. I was so excited to take part, I knew it'd be a right laugh. And what happened?
