Yes, contrary to the headlines some people did manage to get married in 2020 and we were one of the lucky few who had their big day just before the restrictions. As covid started dominating the news we blissfully danced the weekend away with over 100 of our favourite people and really made the most of what was to be the last big celebration of the year.

For me, the more non traditional the better and the best weddings I have been to have been the ones a little off the curve with a little extra summin summin but I appreciate, it’s not what everyone wants and that’s a ok too. Whilst we did stick to some traditions, the general set up of our weekend was definitely far from your usual big white wedding but it seemed to go down well with most.
From a pub quiz to watching the rugby before the reception to our guests not actually seeing us get legally wed, we did not do things the ‘normal’ way and even now looking back I am so sure it was the right thing for us, it really was a blast - I am sure some friends and family probably thought we were nuts.

It’s worth seeing if your chosen venue or current suppliers can recommend others they like to work with - don’t forget these are professional people who have done this a million times before and they have got to know who’s the best in the industry and who is worth avoiding. Your wedding venue might also have a list of approved suppliers they won’t deviate from so worth checking that out when you’re booking too.
